Iran's Sima Limouchi honored with 2025 IPC Volunteer Award for exceptional commitment to advancing academic outreach initiatives.
Iran NPC, Tehran- The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced the winners of the Para Sport Awards 2025, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions to the Paralympic Movement.
Limouchi has shown unwavering commitment and strategic leadership. She has inspired university students through educational workshops and served as a technical classifier in para table tennis, a role that has enabled her to coordinate national events and advocate for the creation of a para table tennis committee within the Asian table tennis union.
The Para Sport Awards, held every two years, highlight the most outstanding achievements and contributions within the Paralympic Movement. Through these awards, IPC recognises individuals and organisations that have gone above and beyond to promote inclusion, excellence, and the spirit of para sport.
In 2025, over 200 nominations were received for the 11 categories recognizing achievements during the eligibility period from 1 May 2023 to 31 March 2025. Reflecting the incredible depth and diversity of talent across the Paralympic Movement, the 11 awards have been awarded to recipients from 10 different nations, covering Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
Andrew Parsons, IPC President, said: “Congratulations to the 11 exceptional winners of the Para Sport Awards. Your achievements on and off the field of play have deservedly received global recognition and are a testament to the power of Para sport to break barriers and transform lives. These awards celebrate not just excellence in performance, but leadership, advocacy, and the commitment to inclusion. Thank you for showing what is possible and for helping us build a more inclusive society through Para sport and the Paralympic Movement.”
