 Para Cycling Track & Road:  Izu Cycling Centre

The Izu Cycling Centre, located in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, is one of the country’s leading dedicated cycling facilities. The venue will host both Para cycling track and road events at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Games and has a strong track record of hosting international and elite-level competitions.

Situated in a mountainous region outside the main urban area, the complex is known for its high-performance design, technical courses, and world-class cycling infrastructure.


Track Venue (Izu Velodrome)

The Izu Velodrome is a covered, UCI-standard 250-metre wooden track located within the Japan Cycle Sports Center. It is designed for sprint, pursuit, and endurance track cycling events.

 

With seating capacity for approximately 3,000–3,600 spectators, the velodrome offers excellent visibility, a competition-ready layout, and fully integrated athlete and operational facilities. It has previously hosted major international cycling events and meets full elite competition standards.

Road Venue (Izu Cycling Centre 5km Circuit Course)

Road events will take place on the 5-kilometre circuit course within the Izu Cycling Centre. The route is a closed-loop road course designed in a natural, mountainous environment with significant elevation changes.

 

The course provides a technically demanding and high-intensity setting suitable for endurance road cycling, and forms part of Japan’s official national cycling infrastructure.
