Para Taekwondo

Para taekwondo was first introduced to the IPC in 2015 and was later added to the Paralympic program in 2020 for the first time in the history of the Games. Para taekwondo was first included into the fixture in 2009 in Iran, and the first edition of national championships was delivered some years later.
Team Iran made its first international appearance in 2017 and stepped up onto the stage in the World Para Taekwondo Championships London 2017.

The following are the eligible impairment types in Para Taekwondo:

- Impaired muscle power

- Athetosis

- Hypertonia

- Limb deficiency

- Ataxia
