Iran wheelchair basketball coach Abbas Aghakouchaki says that his team will be difficult to beat at upcoming Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The wheelchair basketball competition will be held from September 8 to 17.
Iran wheelchair basketball team will play its first game in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games against Germany on September 8.

Iran then play England and USA on the 9th and 10th, respectively in Pool B. The team will play the other two group teams against host Brazil and Algeria on September 11 and 12.

“We have a difficult matches ahead of us. We have analyzed our rivals expect Algeria which remains an unknown team for us,” Aghakouchaki told Paralympic.ir.

“Iran has been out of the competition for eight years. We finished in eighth place in the 2014 Men's Wheelchair Basketball World Championship in Incheon, but we need to balance logic and emotion to make better decisions in our matches,” he added.

“Iran will not be underdog in Rio for sure. We will be a difficult team to defeat and we are even among the favorites,” Aghakouchaki concluded.
