Iran’s men’s wheelchair basketball team have booked a place at the 2026 IWBF World Championships in Ottawa after defeating Poland 81–59 in their final preliminary-stage match at the IWBF Men’s Repechage in Thailand.
Iran NPC, Tehran - The Iranian men extended their perfect run at the IWBF Repechage on day three in Suphan Buri, maintaining their unbeaten record in Group B.
The squad had previously recorded wins over Senegal and Brazil to top the group and secure qualification for Ottawa 2026, following Venezuela’s withdrawal from the competition.
The IWBF Men’s Repechage, being held in Thailand from 8 to 11 June, serves as the final qualification tournament for the 2026 IWBF World Championships in Ottawa, with four spots available.
