Iran’s Ahmad Aminzadeh and Mahdi Sayyadi secured gold and silver in the men’s over 107kg on the final day of individual competition at Oran 2026.
Iran NPC, Tehran - Mahdi Sayyadi produced a consistent series of lifts of 230kg, 235kg and 238kg to claim silver in the event, while his 703kg total secured him the overall gold medal.
Ahmad Aminzadeh delivered the standout performance of the category, successfully lifting 240kg and 247kg to take the event gold before opting out of his final attempt.
With the individual competitions now concluded, attention turns to the team events, which begin tomorrow in Oran.
More than 150 athletes from 20 countries are competing at the championships in Oran, including delegations from Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan and Kazakhstan alongside 15 African nations.
