Sport for Inclusion: Marking the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Sport for Inclusion
Observed annually on 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 calls on the global community to strengthen disability-inclusive societies as a foundation for lasting social progress.

Iran NPC, Tehran- On 3 December 2025, the global community marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” highlighting the vital role of inclusion in building stronger, fairer communities through sport and beyond.

Across the world, this day serves as a powerful reminder that true progress is only possible when opportunity is accessible to all. In the sporting arena, Para athletes continue to demonstrate how determination, excellence, and equality can inspire social change and reshape perceptions of ability at every level of society.

The Paralympic Movement stands at the forefront of this mission, using sport as a catalyst to promote participation, remove barriers, and empower the next generation of athletes with disabilities. Through sustained investment in grassroots development, high-performance pathways, and inclusive policies, nations are moving closer to a future where sport is a shared right for all.

On this important occasion, the National Paralympic Committee of Iran proudly commemorates the entire Iran Paralympic family—athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, families, and supporters—whose unity, sacrifice, and belief continue to elevate Para sport nationwide. Together with them, we renew our commitment to advancing inclusion, excellence, and social progress through the power of sport.
