Iran Para Taekwondo Team Shines at WT President’s Cup – Asia 2026 with 13 Medals

With five gold, three silver and five bronze medals, Iran finished the Para Kyorugi competition with 13 medals, underlining the team’s strong showing at the Grade 3 event.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran – Iran’s Para Taekwondo team concluded its campaign at the WT President’s Cup – Asia 2026 in Lahore, Pakistan, with an impressive haul of 13 medals, including five gold, three silver and five bronze.

 

The Iranian athletes competed in Para Kyorugi at the Grade 3 World Taekwondo event, delivering strong performances across the women’s and men’s competitions and collecting valuable world ranking points.

 

The men’s team was coached by Mahdi Ahmadi, assisted by Ali Karimi Saber, while Atefeh Keshavarz led the women’s squad, with Shaghayegh Khanjani serving as assistant coach.

 

Iran’s gold medals were won by Aylar Jami (-47kg), Mohammad-Taha Hassanpour (-58kg), Maryam Abdollahpour (-57kg), Amirhossein Alizadeh (-63kg) and Amir Mohammad Haghighatshenas (-70kg).

 

Zahra Rahimi (-57kg), Hamed Haghshenas (+80kg) and Marzieh Nasrollahi (-65kg) secured silver medals, while Zahra Soltani (-47kg), Roza Ebrahimi (-52kg), Alireza Bakht (-80kg), Parimah Tourani (-65kg) and Amir Joudi (-70kg) claimed bronze.

 

The WT President’s Cup – Asia 2026 began earlier this week in Pakistan, with the Para Kyorugi competitions concluding on Friday.
