Japan has unveiled commemorative coins for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian and Asian Para Games featuring Goalball, Boccia and mascot Uzumin.
Iran NPC, Tehran – Special-edition coins celebrating the upcoming Asian and Asian Para Games were officially revealed as part of Japan’s promotional and cultural programme for Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
Japan’s Ministry of Finance announced that a 1,000-yen silver commemorative coin for the Games will be issued in 2026 to mark the two major continental events.
The obverse side of the Asian Para Games coin features athletes competing in Goalball and Boccia alongside the main competition venue at Mizuho Park in Nagoya. Organisers said the design symbolises strength, dynamism and the inclusive spirit of Para sport across Asia.
The reverse side includes “Uzumin”, the official mascot of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games, accompanied by a water-themed design element. A special rainbow-colour minting technology has also been used in the production process to create a distinctive visual effect.
According to organisers, the commemorative coin programme forms part of Japan’s broader efforts to raise awareness and generate excitement ahead of the Asian and Asian Para Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
