The organisers of the Aichi-Nagoya
2026 Asian Para Games today unveiled the mascot. Aichi is known for its water
systems and beautiful bays, as well as it is leadership in manufacturing
culture.
The mascot uses the water in Aichi as
inspiration and acts as a counterpoint to the Asian Games mascot “Honohon”
which is inspired by fire.
Taking inspiration from the curves of
the Games’ emblem, the mascot’s design incorporates swirling and curvilinear
patterns, creating a perfect harmony.
Mr. Majid Rashed, President of the
Asian Paralympic Committee, commented;
“The unveiling of the mascot is
always an exciting moment as it signifies that the games are getting closer.
The mascot selection was narrowed down from 185 submissions which shows that
there is already strong interest in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games.
This fantastic mascot will I’m sure help to build on this. I congratulate
everyone involved in its creation.”
