Team Iran Finished Runner-Up at the 2025 IBSA Judo Asian Championships

Iran’s judokas finished runner-up at the 2025 IBSA Judo Asian Championships in Astana.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran – Iran delivered a strong performance at the 2025 IBSA Judo Asian Championships in Astana, finishing second in the overall ranking after securing four medals across men’s VI categories.

Competing against the region’s top judoka, the Iranian delegation collected two gold, one silver and one bronze, marking another milestone for the nation’s VI judo programme.

 

Medal Highlights for Iran

In the J1M -95kg category, Mousa Gholami produced an impressive run to take gold, while in the J1M +95kg class, Ali Navaei added a second title for Team Iran with a dominant performance.

Iran’s third podium of the event came in the J2M +95kg division, where Amirhossein Nimrouzi claimed silver.

Mahdi Borchlou contributed the team’s bronze medal in the J1M -81kg category.

The 2025 IBSA Judo Asian Championships welcomed athletes from nine nations, contesting seven continental titles over three days of competition from 7 to 9 November in Astana, Kazakhstan.
