Iran NPC, Tehran:
The third preparatory and selection
camp for Iran’s women’s Para powerlifting team will kick off on Tuesday, May
13th, in Semnan, as athletes continue their journey toward the Aichi-Nagoya 2026
Asian Para Games.
The camp, organized by the I.R. Iran
Sports Federation for the Enabled (IRISFE) in cooperation with the National
Paralympic Committee of Iran, will run through May 26, 2025.
A total of 12 athletes have been
invited to the camp:
Samaneh Hoda Agh-Ghaleh, Nikoo
Rouzbahani, Fatemeh Ansari, Masoumeh Goodini, Zahra Aghaei, Parvin Moghadam,
Fatemeh Riahi, Negar Ghorbani Sangari, Hadis Beytollahi, Mahdiyeh Mohammadian,
Leyla Yar Mohammadi, and
Zeynab Yaghoubi.
Led by head coach Masoumeh Babaei,
the training sessions will also be supervised by national coaches Saebeh
Abbaszadeh and Seyedeh Maryam Hosseini.
Iran’s women’s para powerlifting team
made their debut at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games, bringing home
three bronze medals. They now aim to build on that success at the fifth
edition of the Asian Para Games, to be held in Nagoya, Japan, from October
18 to 24, 2026, featuring 18 sports.
