female para powerlifters have been invited to the new national training camp, as
Iran Sports Federation for the Persons with Disabilities (IRISFD) reports.
Organized by IRISFD with National
Paralympic Committee’s partnership, the fourth edition of para powerlifting
national training camp for female athletes has been started in Tehran.
The camp holds from April 25th to May
18th under supervision of coaches Saebeh Abbaszadeh and Azadeh Koohdarehei.
The invitees:
Mahdieh Mohammadian, Zeinab
Yaghoubi, Zahra Aghaei, Nikoo Roozbahani and Samaneh Hoda aghghaleh.
Through the establishment of women’s
national para powerlifting team, there are glimmers of hope for the Iranian
females across the country.
Being hopeful of
making a successful debut at the Asian Para Games, the Iranian female para
powerlifters have also shown a keen interest toward their first asian step.
The Fourth Asian Para Games will be
held in Hangzhou, China from 22 to 28 October 2023.
