Dr. Ghafoor Karegari has been elected as the new President of I.R. Iran NPC, replacing Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa in this post, today.

With 39 Votes in favour, Dr. Ghafoor Karegari won the race easily beating Dr. Jalil Kouhpayehzadeh by 10 votes as the new President of Iran National Paralympic Committee (NPC) on Tuesday 13th December 2022.

Asbaghian, Pouladgar and Mazloumi withdrew from the election in favor of Karegari.

"First, I would like to thank everyone for their support. This is a great responsibility ahead of me since I replaced a great man in the position. Khosravi Vafa is a role model in Iran’s sports in the past century," Karegari said.

"We will keep moving forward because I have been here for many years as vice president and advisor and I am well acquainted with the Committee’s capacity," he added.
