Iranian para powerlifter Rouhollah Rostami has been named flagbearer for Iran at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games.
Iran NPC, Tehran – A three-time Paralympic medallist, Rouhollah Rostami struck gold at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, following his silver-medal finish at London 2012. He has also claimed gold at Jakarta 2018 and silver at Hangzhou 2022 at the Asian Para Games.
Rostami’s Paralympic journey includes gold medals at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, following his silver-medal finish at London 2012.
He has also stood on the podium twice at the Asian Para Games, winning gold at Jakarta 2018 and silver at Hangzhou 2022, while his World Championships record includes 10 medals, with four golds and six silvers.
He will lead Iran’s 167-athlete delegation at its fifth Asian Para Games, with the team competing under the banner “Devoted to the Strong Iran”.
The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games will bring together athletes from across Asia in Japan from 18 to 25 October.
