Iran’s Faezeh Ahmadi lit up the Changwon 2026 stage, powering to her first World Championship title and a direct LA28 quota place in a memorable breakthrough for the rising Para shooter.
Iran NPC, Changwon – Faezeh Ahmadi, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games champion, struck gold in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol P2 at Changwon 2026, leading an impressive Iranian showing alongside two-time Paralympic champion Sareh Javanmardi and fellow finalist Nasrin Shahi.
Iranian trio dominated qualification, with Nasrin Shahi leading on 572 points, ahead of Faezeh Ahmadi (568) and Sareh Javanmardi (567).
But the final belonged to Ahmadi.
The Hangzhou 2022 champion delivered under pressure, firing 238.3 points to claim her first World Championship gold and a direct LA28 quota place.
Shahi completed a double for Iran with silver on 233.7, while India’s Bhakti Sharma took bronze with 213.1.
Javanmardi, a two-time Paralympic champion, finished fourth on 194.1.
Ahmadi’s breakthrough marks a new chapter in her career, as she becomes a World Champion and secures her place on the road to LA28.
The Changwon 2026 World Shooting Para Sport Championships are taking place from 10 to 15 September in Changwon, Republic of Korea, with 324 athletes from 53 nations competing for world titles and LA28 qualification quotas.
