Para athletics meeting held ahead of Aichi-Nagoya 2026

A para athletics meeting was held today at NPC Iran as part of preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran- A para athletics meeting was held at the National Paralympic Committee of Iran as part of a series of technical sessions ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games.

 

During the meeting, the National Paralympic Academy delivered reports from its assessment, psychology, nutrition and education departments, outlining the support programmes in place to optimise athlete preparation for the Games.

 

Representatives from the Para athletics associations of the Federation of Sports for the Disabled and the Federation of Sports for the Blind and Visually Impaired, together with members of the coaching staff, reviewed the sport’s preparation plans.

 

Discussions focused on performance testing during a one-week centralised training camp in Tehran, the event programme for Aichi-Nagoya 2026, analysis of key rivals at the Asian Para Games and athlete support strategies.

 

The meeting was attended by Seyed Mohammad Poladgar, Iran’s Chef de Mission for the Asian Para Games; Dr Maryam Kazemipour, President of the National Paralympic Academy; Dr Saeid Solgi, Director of Elite Sport at the National Paralympic Committee of Iran; Mohammad Babaei, Acting President of the Blind and Visually Impaired Federation; Milad Beik-Rezaei, Director of Elite Sport at the Federation of Sports for the Disabled; Ali Asghar Hadizadeh, Head of the Para Athletics Association; and Dr Mostafa Bahrami, Para Athletics representative at the Blind and Visually Impaired Federation, along with technical staff and Academy experts.

 

The fifth edition of the Asian Para Games will take place in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, from 18–24 October 2026, bringing together around 4,000 athletes from 45 nations across 18 sports.
