Iran’s Para Taekwondo Athletes Move Up in Latest World Taekwondo Rankings

World Taekwondo has released the January 2026 Para Taekwondo world rankings, with several Iranian athletes recording changes in their positions following the Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran- Several Iranian Para taekwondo athletes recorded changes in their world rankings following the release of the January 2026 update by World Taekwondo, reflecting their performances at the 2025 Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai.

Women

In the women’s -47kg (K44) category, Ailar Jami ranked 16th with 50.94 points, while Zahra Soltani placed 30th with 12.00 points.

In the -52kg division, Roza Ebrahimi moved to 12th place with 64.76 points, and Narges Javadi climbed five places to 19th with 25.99 points.

In the women’s -57kg category, Zahra Rahimi continued her strong presence in the top 10, ranking seventh with 155.40 points. Maryam Abdollahpour, following her gold medal performance at the Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai, earned 44 points and climbed two places to 15th.

In the -65kg category, Romina Chamsouraki ranked 16th with 52.56 points. In the +65kg division, Marzieh Nasrollahi moved up one place to 10th with 65.80 points.

Men

In the men’s -58kg (K44) category, Mohammad Taha Hassanpour rose one place to 20th with 46.99 points. Abolfazl Imani, following an impressive performance in Dubai, surged 15 places to 28th with 35 points, while Shahram Sahrapeyma climbed 30 places to 56th with 7.56 points.

In the -63kg division, Saeed Sadeghianpour remained among the world’s leading athletes, ranking sixth with 161.04 points. Amirhossein Alizadeh Arab climbed 14 places to 20th with 38.24 points.

In the men’s -70kg category, Amirmohammad Haghighatshenas, gold medallist at the Asian Youth Para Games, earned 109.16 points and climbed three places to ninth.

In the -80kg division, Alireza Bakht continued his position among the world’s top athletes, ranking third with 257.88 points, while Mahdi Pourrahnama placed ninth with 139.76 points. In the +80kg (K44) category, Hamed Haghshenas also ranked third with 275 points.
