Zahra Rahimi, Iran’s rising Para Taekwondo star, will proudly serve as flagbearer for Team Iran at Dubai 2025.
Iran NPC, Tehran – Team Iran, officially named “Team Iran: Ambassadors of Victory,” is set to make a strong impression at the 5th Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai, with rising Para Taekwondo star Zahra Rahimi proudly carrying the national flag at the opening ceremony.
Zahra Rahimi, a top Para Taekwondoin, made history at the 2024 Paris Paralympics by winning a silver medal. She became the first Iranian woman to medal in the sport and the youngest Paralympic medalist in Iran’s history, exemplifying skill, determination, and the next generation of Para athletic excellence.
Iran’s delegation includes 194 athletes — 121 boys and 74 girls — competing in 11 sports: Para Archery, Para Shooting, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Boccia, Goalball, Para Powerlifting, Para Swimming, Para Table Tennis, Para Taekwondo, and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball. With the exception of Para Swimming, Iranian female athletes will be represented across all other sports, highlighting the continued growth and inclusivity of the nation’s youth Para program.
