Iran NPC,
Tehran- Team Iran concluded its campaign at the Cairo 2025 Para Powerlifting
World Championships (Rookie & Next Gen) with an impressive total of nine
medals — including eight golds and one silver — securing fourth place overall
among 28 competing nations.
The
championships, held over two days in the Egyptian capital, featured 120 young
athletes (36 female and 84 male) aged 20 or younger, representing 28 National
Paralympic Committees. This year’s event marked the largest-ever Rookie &
Next Gen World Championships, showcasing rising stars and record-breaking
performances across 19 events.
Iran’s young
lifters made history with standout performances in both the men’s and women’s
categories.

(88kg) – 1 Gold
Hassan Mohammad
Hosseinpour (80kg) – 1 Gold and 1 Silver

Amirali Eshaghnia
(+107kg) – 2 Golds
In addition,
Amirali Rashidimehr (49kg) and Mohammad Karimnia (65kg) delivered commendable
performances, finishing fourth and fifth in their respective weight categories.
With these
results, Iran ranked fourth in the team standings, while Uzbekistan, Egypt, and
Armenia claimed the top three spots.
The Elite
category competitions are set to begin today, with Iranian athletes scheduled
to start their events tomorrow.
