Iran's Mohammad Hosseinpour Wins Gold at Cairo 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships

Iran’s young Para powerlifter Hassan Mohammad Hosseinpour claimed the gold medal in the men’s up to 80kg category at the Cairo 2025 Worlds.

Iran NPC, Tehran- Iran’s young Para powerlifter Hassan Mohammad Hosseinpour delivered an impressive performance to claim the gold medal in the men’s up to 80kg category at the Cairo 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships (Junior Division). His victory marked the third gold medal for the Iranian delegation at this year’s world event.
Competing on the second day of the 11th edition of the Junior World Championships, Mohammad Hosseinpour successfully lifted 147kg in his opening attempt and improved to 156kg in his second. Although he narrowly missed 162kg in his third attempt, his best lift was enough to secure the world title in his class.
The Junior World Championships are being held for the first time over two consecutive days, 9 and 10 October (17–18 Mehr), featuring 124 athletes from 28 National Paralympic Committees in Cairo, Egypt.
