Iran's Mani Saeedi Claims World Title at Cairo 2025 Para Powerlifting Championships

Iran’s young Para powerlifter Mani Saeedi captured the gold medal in the men’s up to 88kg category at the Cairo 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships.

Iran NPC, Tehran- Iran’s young Para powerlifter Mani Saeedi captured the gold medal in the men’s up to 88kg category at the Cairo 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships (Junior Division), earning the country’s second gold of the competition. His outstanding performance once again brought the Iranian flag to the top of the podium in Egypt.
Competing on the second day of the 11th edition of the Junior World Championships, Saeedi showcased remarkable strength and composure. He successfully lifted 166kg in his opening attempt and improved to 172kg in his second lift. Despite narrowly missing 173kg on his final attempt, his best mark of 172kg secured him the world championship title.
The junior events of the 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships are being held for the first time over two consecutive days, 9 and 10 October (17–18 Mehr), featuring 124 athletes from 28 National Paralympic Committees competing in Cairo, Egypt.
