Iran NPC, Tehran - Iran National Paralympic Committee President Dr. Ghafoor Karegari has travelled to Astana, Kazakhstan, to take part in the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) 2025 Conference and General Assembly, which bring together representatives from across the continent to shape the future of Para sports in Asia.
Ahead of the two main events, the 38th APC Executive Board meeting was held this morning, chaired by APC President Majid Rashed and attended by board members. Dr. Karegari participated in the meeting in his capacity as Senior Advisor to the APC President, alongside Dr. Jalil Kouhpayehzadeh, who serves as Chair of the APC Medical Committee.
The APC Conference will take place on 11–12 August under the theme “Building the Future of Asian Paralympic Sport through Youth Empowerment.” The programme includes reports from APC subcommittees, a keynote on anti-doping in sport, presentations from International Federations on developing sports in the region, and regional working group sessions.
The 2025 APC General Assembly will follow on 13–14 August, featuring the presentation of the APC’s biennial report, updates to the strategic plan, financial reports, proposals from the Executive Board and member NPCs, and the Asian Awards ceremony. Delegates will also receive updates on upcoming events, including the Asian Youth Para Games, Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games, Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, and other future competitions.
