Iran NPC, Tehran- The first Women in Sport Seminar, hosted by the Asian
Paralympic Committee (APC), commenced on 1 August in Taipei, Chinese Taipei.
The event brings together women leaders from across sport, government, and the
Paralympic Movement to advance gender equity and promote a more inclusive
future.
Representing Iran were Dr. Maryam
Kazemipour, Vice President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Iran,
and Dr. Mozhgan Nasiri, member of the APC Women in Sport Committee and Vice
President of the Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities.
During this two-day seminar, Dr.
Maryam Kazemipour was officially appointed as the Advisor to Dr. Mou Ming-Chu,
Chair of the APC Women in Sport Committee.
The seminar features inspiring
stories from female coaches, discussions on navigating work-life balance, and
efforts to overcome gender inequality, highlighting the strength, leadership,
and determination of women in Para sports. Both Dr. Kazemipour and Dr. Nasiri
delivered keynote speeches representing Iran.
Also in attendance were APC Secretary
General Tarek Souei, officials from the Chinese Taipei NPC, and representatives
from 45 Asian countries. The event continues through 2 August in Taipei.
