Classifier Training Course Held at Iran National Paralympic Academy
Iran NPC, Tehran- The Iran National Paralympic Academy, with the cooperation of National Sports Federations (NSFs), offered a classifier education course on July 29, 2025.
Held at the Paralympic Hall, the one-day Advanced Para Sports Course for Classifier Training provided participants with three continuous, hands-on workshops.
Dr. Maryam Kazemipour, Director of the Iran National Paralympic Academy, emphasized the importance of this training initiative, stating:
“This was the first advanced course in general medical-sports classification, and about 70 individuals who had already completed the introductory training at their respective federations participated in this round.”
She added that the course focused on theoretical foundations, classification regulations, and operational guidelines.
“The participants included physicians, paramedics, physiotherapists, and graduates of sport sciences and physical education, representing federations such as Sports for the Disabled, Rowing, Cycling, Mountaineering, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Tennis, and Equestrian,” Dr. Kazemipour noted.
“Educational content was delivered across three workshops by distinguished experts including Dr. Sokhangouei, Dr. Akrami, and Dr. Zargaran.”
This initiative reflects the Iran NPC’s commitment to fostering scientific development in classification and building a new generation of professional classifiers for the future of Paralympic sport.
