Iran NPC, Tehran– The Athletes' Commission of the Iran National Paralympic Committee (NPC) convened its second meeting of the new term yesterday (25 May) in Tehran, with a primary focus on enhancing athlete preparation and welfare for upcoming international events.
During the session, a comprehensive report was presented on the training camps for the national teams preparing for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games. The Commission engaged in a thorough discussion, addressing both the strengths and areas for improvement in the athletes' preparation process.
The Athletes' and Champions' Support Fund was also a key agenda item, undergoing a detailed review of its related matters.
In another significant segment of the meeting, the NPC's representative to the Athletes' Commission provided a clear outline of Iran Paralympic's support strategies for athletes in upcoming major events, including the Dubai 2025 and Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games. Crucially, the deployment of technical observers to national team training camps across various sports was also announced.
Furthermore, following post-Paris 2024 Paralympic Games debriefings and with the consensus of the Commission members, a key decision was made: various departments of the National Paralympic Academy will now dedicate increased focus to athlete-related affairs.
The meeting concluded with a report on the recent constructive meeting between the President of the Iran National Paralympic Committee and the Head of the "Iran's Sports Champions and Sporting Legends Support Fund." This report highlighted that several Paralympians' requests were approved by the Fund's officials and subsequently integrated into their operational plan.
