Iran NPC condoled the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying team on Monday.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran: In a message, National Paralympic Committee condoled the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying team in the line of duty.

“This is very truly heart-breaking news for sport and for the whole Iran Paralympic movement. Our hearts and prayers are with our President, his team and all the people of the country.

President Raisi served in numerous top positions across several government branches, over the course of his decades-long public service. Dr. Raisi also made significant contribution toward Iran Para athletes for supporting the movement.

On the behalf of the IRI Paralympic Family, the National Paralympic Committee, with deep sadness and regret, offers its condolences to the nation, families of the martyred, the Supreme Leader and all the hardworking cabinet members of the government.”

National Flag at Half-Mast

Following the sad occasion of tragic loss of President Raisi and his companions, IRI National Flag has been lowered to half-mast at the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, as a sign of mourning.

In a tragic helicopter crash, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, alongside other officials, lost their lives en route to the provincial capital city of Tabriz Sunday, on May 19, 2024. On Monday morning, it was announced that all the passengers of the crashed helicopter were martyred.

Province Governor Malek Rahmati, and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to East Azarbaijan province, along with several other people were martyred in the incident.
