Iran NPC, Tehran- During a special and friendly gathering, the President of National
Paralympic Committee Dr. Ghafoor Karegary, along with the NPC Vice-President for Women Dr.
Maryam Kazemipour, congratulated to Iran's APG flag-bearer Sareh Javanmardi
and her husband, who have just welcomed their newborn son.

He mentioned that NPC Iran is proud of Sareh Javanmardi as a Para shooting world icon, great
champion and also a role model mother in Paralympic Movement.”
Dr. Kazemipour also expressed
her gratitude for Javanmardi’s carrying Iran's flag at the opening ceremony of
Hangzhou Asian Para Games, as a successful Paralympian and mother.
Thrilled with the incredible arrival,
Javanmardi said: "I'm very happy! Because I became a mother for the
first time. And now we have a beautiful son.
I want to show other female athletes
that there's a path forward to continue your career and to show society a way
that can start chipping away at this unconscious bias that we put on
individuals with disabilities and that we put on women as they lean into
motherhood, of what their lives should be”.
The 38-year-old shooting para sport's
legend have been chosen to carry the country's
flag at the opening ceremony of Hangzhou Asian Para Games.

Javanmardi has won three gold Paralympic medals in 2016 and
2020 as well as a bronze London 2012. Her performance at Rio 2016 saw her voted
as the Allianz Best Female Athlete of the Games.
The Fourth Asian Para Games will be held in Hangzhou, China
from October 22 to 28, 2023.
