The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation and the People’s Sport Foundation have announced an extension of their partnership for another year.

The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and the People’s Sport Foundation (PSF) have announced an extension of their partnership for another year.

PSF, is a non-profit, private organisation dedicated to strengthening the promotion of sports for people with disabilities, became an Official Supporter of IWBF in April 2022 and supports IWBF’s in using wheelchair basketball to transform lives and breakdown barriers.

Following a successful first year of cooperation IWBF and PSF have agreed to prolong the cooperation between the two organisations.

IWBF President Ulf Mehrens said:

“We are delighted that the People’s Sport Foundation have decided to continue their cooperation with IWBF.  The support from the foundation assists in facilitating opportunities for wheelchair basketball player across the world to compete and play the game, along with raising the profile of PSF and promoting the exceptional work they do in raising awareness for athletes with disabilities. We believe we can continue to make a significant difference together.”

PSF Founder and Vice President Dr. Olesya Zaglada said:

“PSF and IWBF have been collaborating on numerous socially significant initiatives for the past year. Looking at the outcomes of our collaborative efforts, I realize that we are moving in the right direction, but we have to continue our cooperation. And I am extremely pleased that the People’s Sport Foundation has such a vital and strong partner as the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation. We are happy to work with the IWBF team.”

PSF’s goal to develop long-term social and investment programmes to assist athletes with a disability will complement IWBF’s work developing the game of wheelchair basketball across the globe.
