Iran’s squad prepares to compete at the group D of wheelchair basketball world championships
​Sixteen Players have been invited to attend in the new round of wheelchair basketball training camp from February 14th, in Tehran.

 

Organized by Iran Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities (IRISFD) the seventh round of men's national training camp underway in Tehran at Kahrizak Charity Foundation, from 14 to 21 February.

The players from across the country are gathering to be trained for showing their best in the selection process of attending in the IWBF World Championships.

On the list released by the IRISFD on their website, the head coach Mohammadreza Dastyar leads the 16 athletes through this 8-day camp, assisted by the coaches Abbas Khaki, Adel Torfi and Yaser Gilaki, the fitness coach.

 

The players at the camp are as below:

Hakim Mansouri, Vahid Sa’adatpour, Saeid Heidari, Abdoljalil Gharanjik, Hasan Abdi, Ali Karimi, Alireza Kamalifar, Omid Hadi Azhar, Amir Hossein Eslamian, Aboulfazl Jalaei, Hasanali Kab Amir, Shahin Barkhordari, Mansour Ahmadi, Ali Shokouhi, Esmaeil Fazeli and Mohammad Mohammadnezhad, Faleh Ayyashi.

 

IWBF World Championships will be held in UAE, Dubia from 9 – 20 June 2023.

The draw for the 2022 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships took place at the Dubai Sports Council on Wednesday 8 February and Iran’s Men squad have been drawn alongside USA, Great Britain and Iraq in Group D of the competitions.

The Senior Men’s National Team is the defending Asian title. The team ranked fourth at the previous Championships in 2018.
