At the 2023 G2 President Cup, Iran’s Alireza
Bakht defeated the Mexican fighter 9-7 and topped the podium of the weight
category of -80 kg.
Hamed Haghshenas, In the weight
category of +80 kg, Amir Mohammad Haghighat Shenas in -70 kg and Saeid
Sadeghianpour in -63 kg, won 3 silver medals.
The 2023 Turkish Open Championships
On the men’s side of the 2023 Turkish
Open Championships, Amir Mohammad Haghighat Shenas bagged a bronze medal in the
-70 kg weight category.
Morteza Soltani led the taekwondo squad of the Islamic
republic in the competition as the head coach.
As many as 200 male and female contenders competed in the
tournament from 4 to 7 February 2023.
