Around 200 lifters from 36 nations are in action at the Dubai Club for People of Determination at the Fazza Dubai Para Powerlifting World Cup. The competitions have been started from 15 December in Dubai, UAE.

 

 

The 2022 Fazza Para Powerlifting World Cup has been started from 15 December in Dubai, UAE.

In the Day 3rd of the competitions, Iran's para powerlifter Ali Akbar Gharibshahi sets a new World Record and won the gold medal with a personal best lift of 254kg in the Men's Up to 107kg weight category.

He improved his own world record a kilogram and also with lift of 501kg stood the fourth in total, as well. 

 

Later, Rouhollah Rostami won the two titles with a best lift of 218kg and total of 637kg in the Up to 80kg class.

Mohsen Bakhtiar lifting 187kg won a gold for his best lift in the Up to 59kg. Amir Jafari with a best lift of 198 kg and total of 583kg has also previously won two gold medals in the Up to 65kg class.

Ali Seifi (lifting 182kg- Up to 65kg) also stood the fourth and achieved a total bronze by lifting 530kg for Iran in the competition underway in the UAE.

Following today's events, in the heavyweight category, Iran's Ahmad Aminzadeh and Mahdi Sayyadi will also compete for the medals.

 

Iran’ Squad at the Fazza 2022 World Cup:

Rouhollah Rostami, Mohsen Bakhtiar, Ahmad Aminzadeh, Amir Jafari, Mahdi Sayadi, Ali Seifi and Ali Akbar Gharibshahi represents Iran in the event as the national para powerlifting team. The squad is led by head coach Hosein Tavakoli and coach Ahmad Mollahoseini.

The 12th Fazza 2022 Para Powerlifting World Cup is running in Dubai, UAE from 15 to18 Dec 2022. The event has brought a total of 200 participants from 36 countries together.
