APC President is to join National Paralympic Day Ceremony in Tehran

 

 

Iran NPC is to celebrate the 15th edition of National Paralympic Day (NPD).

The event will be attended by high ranked officials, including Majid Rashed, APC President, accompanied by Tarek Souei, APCS CEO, Sahab Uddin and Ruban Lawrence, APC staffs. 

On October 16th, Majid Rashed will deliver an exclusive keynote address to the event in National Paralympic Day Ceremony to show the commitment of APC in support of the event.

Though with the landscape of this festival looking very different to the backdrop to the previous editions, by a video message that IPC President Andrew Parsons has released. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President sent out a message of encouragement for those participants who celebrate such a ceremony across the country to further emphasize the strength of Para sports. This will leave a legacy that includes a commitment to improve public perceptions of disabled people via sports.

The 15th National Paralympic Day festivities broadcast throughout Iran and would be celebrated in other provinces, with more than 60,000 people attending the event.

National Paralympic Day was first held in 2003 and became part of the national calendar in 2016 following a Presidential order. The country first competed at the Paralympic Games at Seoul 1988, and since London 2012, has won 24 medals at each of the last three Paralympic Games editions.
At Tokyo 2020, it equaled its record set at Sydney 2000 of 12 gold medals as it finished 13th in the medal table.
