Zahra Nemati, Iran’s two-time Paralympics gold medalist will run for IPC Athletes’ Council elections as one of the 22 shortlisted candidates for the six summer representative positions of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletes' Council.

At London 2012, she became the first Iranian woman to win gold at either a Paralympic or Olympic Games. At Rio 2016, she could defend her title and won another gold to raise her Paralympic medal tally to 2 gold, one silver and one bronze in Archery. Iran's flag bearer at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games hopes to further place athletes at the heart of the Paralympic Movement and be the voice of persons with impairment across the world.
