Sareh Javanmardi from Iran claimed a gold medal at the Para Shooting World Cup underway in Al Ain, the UAE on Saturday.

Sareh Javanmardi from Iran claimed a gold medal at the Para Shooting World Cup underway in Al Ain, the UAE on Saturday. 

The event at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club is the first major competition of the year in the sport.

It also marks the inaugural combined World Cup event across the three shooting disciplines.

Javanmardi took gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol SH1 final.

She scored 232.8 to beat Aysei Ozgan of Turkey, who came second with 230.0 points. 
Ukrainian Iryna Liakhu shot 208.6 for bronze.
