Iran women’s wheelchair basketball team claimed the title in the Central and East Asia qualifying tournament, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand from March 4 to 10.
Iran women’s wheelchair basketball team claimed the title in the Central and East Asia qualifying tournament, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand from March 4 to 10.
The tournament brought six women’s teams namely, Thailand, Iran, Afghanistan, Cambodia, India and Laos together in a round robin format.
In the final match which was held on Saturday, Iran defeated Thailand 43-27 and won the title.
Iran started the campaign with a 45-30 win over Thailand.
Team Melli then defeated India (74-4), Laos (53-14), Cambodia (58-17) and Afghanistan (40-23).
At the end of the competition, top four teams Iran, Thailand, Afghanistan and Cambodia advanced to the 2018 Asian Para Games.
