Sajad Nikparast from Iran claimed a silver medal at the men's javelin throw F12-13 of the World Para Athletics Championships.

On Wednesday, Nikparast won the silver medal in F12 with a throw of 61.88 m. 

Gold medal went to Uzbekistan’s Aleksander Svechnikov who threw 71.01 in F13 class.

Hector Cabrera Llacer (F12) from Spain claimed a bronze medal with a throw of 61.53m. 

Iranian para athletes had already won one gold, five silver and three bronze medals in the competition.

The World Para Athletics Championships will run through to 23 July in London.

More than 1,150 athletes from 90 countries are competing in 202 medal events.
