The Iranian sole swimmer at the 2016 Paralympic Games is happy with his performance in the competition.

Shahin Izadyar represented Iran in the 2016 Paralympic Games in the Men's 50m Freestyle - S10 and Men's 100m Breaststroke - SB9.

“I advanced to the final in the Men's 100m Breaststroke, bettering my personal best by three seconds. I think it’s a great honor for me,” Izadyar told Paralympic.ir.

“I also had a good performance at the Men's 50m Freestyle, beating my own previous record by 15.0 seconds,” he added.

“I am training now since I will have to book a place at the 2018 Para Asian Games in Indonesia. My goal is to show a good performance in the event,” Izadyar said.

“My long-term goal is to win a medal in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics and I need to participate at the more warm-up competitions to prepare for the event,” the 24-year-old para swimmer concluded.
