Paralympic and world champion Brazil continue to lead the world rankings and will be the firm favorite to win Paralympic gold on home soil this September.

The Brazilian football 5-a-side team maintains a 100 per cent record at Paralympic Games, having won every edition since the sport was introduced to the Paralympic programme at Athens 2004, and has not lost at a major tournament since 2007.

Argentina is ranked second and will try to take revenge from South American rivals Brazil, to whom they lost in the 2014 World Championships and the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games finals, and the London 2012 semi-finals.

Spain and France, who won bronze and silver at the 2012 Paralympics, respectively, are ranked third and fifth, even though they did not qualify for Rio 2016.

China is fourth and Turkey sixth, followed by Japan, Britain, Iran and South Korea, paralympic.org wrote.
In Rio, Brazil will be joined by the three other continental champions in Group A: Turkey, Iran and Morocco. Argentina was drawn in Group B together with China, Russia and Mexico.
