Iran National Paralympic Committee officially announced the 12-member women’s sitting volleyball team that will represent the nation at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
Iran National Paralympic Committee officially announced the 12-member women’s sitting volleyball team that will represent the nation at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Debutant Iran’s women’s sitting volleyball team has been pooled with powerhouses China, USA and Rwanda.

Team Iran consists of Nasrin Farhadi, Tayyebeh Jafari, Zahra Abdi, Samira Khaleghi, Masoumeh Zarei, Eshrat Kordestani, Batoul Khalilzadeh, Mehri Fallahi, Zeynab Malaki, Sekineh Keshvari, Zahra Nejati Aref, and Zahra Danaei.

The team will be headed by Maryam Iranmanesh.

Sitting Volleyball at the 2016 Summer Paralympics will be held from 9 September to 18 September at the Riocentro Pavilion 6 in Rio de Janeiro. Two events will be contested: men's and women's team.
