The prestigious World Cup will be held in Tokyo, Japan from May 23 to 28 at the Ariake Colosseum.

The Iranian team consists of three athletes Hossein Mamipour, Mehdi Tayebi and Mehdi Jabbari.

Iran was awarded a wild card entry in the 2005 World Cup in Turkey.

The Sri Lankan Tennis Association are then due to hold the Asian qualifier from February 27 to March 1.

Elsewhere, China and South Korea will meet together for one place to join host Japan.
