Majid Farzin of Iran claimed a gold medal at the IPC Powerlifting World Cup on Wednesday.

Majid Farzin of Iran claimed a gold medal at the IPC Powerlifting World Cup on Wednesday.

In the men’s up to 80kg weight category, Farzin claimed a gold medal by lifting 236.5kg in his third attempt.

Jainer Rafael Cantillo Guette from Colombia won the silver medal with 206kg.

 

 


Bronze medal went to Turkey’s Izzetin Kanat with 193kg.

Iran’s Hamzeh Mohammadi had won a bronze medal in the men’s up to 65kg weight category.

More than 200 athletes from 40 countries compete at the IPC Powerlifting World Cup in Dubai, UAE, from 15-19 February.

Hamzeh Mohammadi in -65kg, Majid Farzin in -80kg, Hamed Solhipour in -88kg, Saman Razi in -97kg, Mansour Pourmirzaei in -107kg, Ali Sadeghzadeh in -107kg and Siamand Rahman in +107kg represent Iran in the event.
