Ghader Modabber

Ghader Modaber – Athletics

Ghader Modaber was born in 1969 in Gilan. This up-and-coming boy took up martial arts at early ages. However, after his impairment in 1987, he had to switch to Para sports like table tennis, shot put and javelin throw which were more compatible with people with impairment. In 1993, Ghader was called up to the national squad for the first time and made several achievements at the international events for Iran.
Ghader made history at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games by taking home three gold medals. Four years later at Sydney 2000, he defended the title and added two more gold and one bronze to his medal tally.
